The APS Centennial Celebration was
the largest meeting of physicists in history. Scientists from around the globe gathered
in Atlanta to celebrate the first 100 years of the American Physical Society and
a century of remarkable discoveries in physics.
One goal of the event was to
communicate clearly that physics not only gives us knowledge about how our
world works, but that this knowledge has contributed to the technologies
which fuel the economy and strengthen the nation.
