David C. Cassidy is Professor of Natural Science at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY. He is the author of "Uncertainty: The Life and Science of Werner Heisenberg" (Freeman, 1992), "Einstein and Our World" (Humanity Books, 1995), as well as numerous historical works on the history of quantum physics and German science. He is currently working on a physics text for non-science majors and future teachers, "Understanding Physics" (Springer). He received the doctorate in physics/history of science at Purdue University; and the bachelors and masters degrees in physics at Rutgers University.
